- Guidance in developing Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) as determined by your child's educational evaluations

- Guidance in interpreting Procedural Safeguards and Procedures ~ Federal and State mandates as established in Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) 2004 and Texas Special Education Rules and Regulations
LLR consultant, Robin Rettie, has a BA in education (K-8), certified in Early Childhood education(PK-K), and has a Master's Degree in Special Education (EC - Adulthood). Robin holds a State Board for Educator Certification in the State of Texas. Robin's combined teaching experience in Early Childhood, General Education, and Special Education totals 18 years classroom experience.
Robin has 40 hours of training in Dr. Mel Levine's, All Kinds of Minds, 8 Neurological Constructs of Learning; completed 64 hours in Mediation and Negotiation Training through the state of Texas; WrightsLaw training; countless hours in training in all areas of disabilities ranging from Autism to Visual Impairment, including Social Skills and Behavior training. She lives in Cypress with her husband, two daughters, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a frog!
Matil Vallianos has 14 years experience working in the field with children with Autism and other neurological and/or developmental delays. She has her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders in 2001 and received her Masters in Special Education in 2006. She has a rich background in working with children that are uniquely designed and a puzzle to many. Her ability to use a melting pot of approaches to reach the child is highly regarded in both the therapy and the educational profession. Matil's passion is working with children. Her desire to help families see the light at the end of the tunnel is held with great importance. When working with children, Matil uses a variety of approaches that are tailored to meet the children at their individual developmental level, while challenging them to reach their optimal learning potential. Matil's areas of specialty include, but not limited to:
· Brain-based learning techniques
· Sensory Integrative techniques to improve learning
· American Sign Language
· Dramatic Play techniques (to teach academics and social skills)
· Music (to support transitioning, language processing, and flexible thinking skills)
Susan Epple,has 27 years of teaching experience with Texas Certifications in General Education, Speech and Hearing Therapy, Dyslexia, ELS, and Gifted & Talented. Susan is passionate about supporting all individuals with differences. It was noted on her last evaluation before her retirement by her administrator that "Mrs. Epple is an Advocate for her students." Her vast knowledge in a variety of areas allows for astute and detailed educational planning when advocating for a child's education. Susan lives in Magnolia with her husband, Carl and horse, Laura May. Susan plans to share her horse with the children she serves.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Daniel worked for 10 years as a mental health case manager for MHMR and later as a Special Education Advocate for our firm. During his 14 years with us, he gained experience in civil litigation and probate matters. Daniel is particularly skilled in working with families and persons with physical and mental impairments as well as Spanish speakers.
At LLR learning never stops, as navigating the educational system takes a collaborative effort of knowledgeable persons when meeting the individual needs of those we serve.

All partnerships between parent(s) and LLR are established through a contractual agreement. LLR reserves the right to withdraw services when it is determined progress cannot be made on behalf of the child.
