Who we are

Our Story

At Lighthouse Learning Resources, our team is composed of highly knowledgeable and compassionate individuals who bring a diverse set of skills and experiences to the table. With a shared passion for helping families in crisis, we are here to provide personalized guidance and support to ensure the success of every student.

Meet The Team

Our team is made up of dedicated individuals who most have personal experience with neurodiversity within their own families. This shared experience translates into our commitment to providing the most appropriate consulting services to families with similar struggles. Get to know the team by scrolling below.

Robin Rettie, M.Ed., Special Education began working in her beloved field of supporting individuals with differing abilities in 1976, Wood Lane Residential Services and Sheltered Workshop. She has taught in public and private school settings.

She is the sister to Laurie Lorraine Rettie (LLR) whose life inspired Robin to begin Lighthouse Learning Resources (LLR) in 2011.

Paula Evans, M.A., CCC - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology and M.A. Diagnostician has 30 years directly supporting children in need. Paula stays abreast of Texas Education laws/policies and updates LLR's staff. She serves on the Houston Disability Chamber of Commerce and is LLR's Lead Consultant.

Lindsay O'Leary,

Masters Education and former elementary public school Administrator. Lindsay has a passion for children and is the proud mother of three children. She is knowledgeable in curriculum and Texas Education Codes. Her understanding of parents' concerns builds trust with families she supports. 

Lindsey Volney,  M.S Educational Leadership U of H 2015. Lindsey is a former public school secondary Administrator. Lindsey is well versed in curriculum, special education, and Texas Education Codes. She is the proud mother of 4 children and treats all children she supports as she would her own.

Montia Murray is a high achiever and notices necessary details when supporting children's needs during meetings. While working for The Monarch School and Institute, Tia finished her degree to become a Texas Certified Educator. She transferred to public education and held several positions, one being a Homebound teacher. She is raising her wonderful son she engaged both her son and self in numerous volunteer positions to learn life's lessons.

Tara Voss moved from California to Texas 3 years ago. While in public school, she became an ARD Facilitator. Tara found Texas policies have room for growth. She is new to our team and is eager to begin supporting families and their child. She is a newly grandmother and will be able to spend time with her grandchild while supporting LLR's consulting work. LLR welcomes Tara with open arms!

Melissa Barber has been in education for 13 years and is supportive of not only her beautiful daughter who manager her ASD and ADHD, Melissa supports her past students and Directs Coffee, Crafting, and Community in Magnolia, as active adult group that converge together weekly to improve employment skills for the purpose 

becoming gainfully employed. Melissa provides resources and shares her talents everywhere she goes to inspire others.

Susan Sheeren is a former public Special Education teacher who took on the role of ARD Facilitator. She is gracious when negotiating, but keen in thought. Susan's ability to disagree comes with a research-supported alternative plan. She makes advocating look easy. She loves supporting children and in her downtime, she spends time with her grandchildren.
